Col d’Aubisque

Aubisque, another one of the great and unmissable climbs of the Pyrenees. Like Tourmalet, it first appeared in the Tour de France in 1910 as part of the gruesome 326km Luchon-Bayonne stage.

It was on Col d’Aubisque that Ocatave Lapize, when he finally appeared in second place at the top, screamed ‘Vous etes Assains’ at the organisers for the brutality of the route.
